Destiny weaves its own designs, often catching us off-guard with its surprises. Within a mere span of ten days, the trajectory of their lives would be irrevocably changed.
Chu Uki, a 24-year-old Chinese scholar with a Ph.D. in historical archaeology, landed in Venice, tracing a crucial lead related to her family's ancient past. To her surprise, a group of foreigners appeared out of nowhere, claiming to be her distant cousins. They hailed from the ancient Scuola Brotherhood founded by Marco Polo and identified her as a direct descendant of Marco Polo and a princess from the Yuan Dynasty. Together, they embarked on a journey in search of Marco Polo's secret treasures.
Uki is cast as a “Bookwormy is the new sexy” persona, endowed with a photographic memory and the steadfast supported by a closely-knit circle of family and beloved friends.
Over the course of ten days, she finds herself fallen into complex “relationships” with three men: Matteo; Niccolò; James. At the end of the 10 days, one of the three is willing to die for her. Who?
Woven into the fabric of the story are two intertwined treasure hunting adventures, set in the years 1290 and 2010, respectively.
